Forget that image of dusty old men hunched over a pint of stout. Social clubs are now vibrant, exciting meeting places with something to engage all the family. With its recent trendy refurb, Cheam Social Club is a case in point. As well as keep fit classes, you can entertain the kids with the free entertainer, while you play snooker or darts or just have a natter and relax with the other mums and dads.

There are clubs to join, such as old time dancing and indoor bowls. On Saturdays, there is usually free entertainment in the hall – and there are lots of functions and special events throughout the year. Every Christmas, there's a free children's party and a senior citizens party. "This Club really looks after its members", reports one of the regulars.

And you can still get your pint there, too!

Cheam Social Club accepts nominations for new memberships every January. For more information, please contact Cheam Social Club.
