The pub was built in the 1930s in the classic Tudor revival style, paying homage to Cheam's historical legacy. This modern take on Tudor architecture is mirrored in other buildings in Cheam Village's shopping area, on all sides of the crossroads (known as the 'Crossways'). Mock tudor used to be sneered upon by architects in their black polonecks. Now it's the height of cool.
